     This is an Educational Opportunity to Understand Medical Cannabis in Wellness.

 

     Hawaii has a history using plant based medicine. Cannabis also has a history of healing
properties for over 5000 years.

 

     This course will provide pertinent information regarding Medical Cannabis in the State of

 

     Hawaii, qualifying conditions, application process for a Medical Cannabis 329 card, and the
various programs available.

 

     During the 4 weeks we will focus on the Endocannabinoid System, Cannabinoids, Terpenes
and Cannabis Terminology. Also the importance of dosing, administration options and
assessment of qualifying conditions.

 

     Medical Cannabis in Wellness is a integrative approach to health, including nutrition,
emotional health, levels of activity to support a homeostasis/state of balance.

 

     At the end of this course you will have a understanding of Medical Cannabis as a plant
based medicine in the State of Hawaii

Shirley Ramey - LPN

     Shirley Ramey has been in Healthcare for over 25 years, recently retired from the Veterans Administration Community Based Outreach Clinic on Maui.

     Shirley is a member of the American Cannabis Nurse Association and American Holistic Nurse Association, she believes and supports integrative health for well-being, of mind, body and spirit.

     Her understanding of wellness over the years as a nurse has created a path to support integrative healthcare based on each patients overall health. 

     Shirley supports and understands Hawaii's long history of plant-based medicine and the incorporation of plants for healing.

     In addition, Shirley held the first medical cannabis conference for nurses on Maui, to educate nurses working with patients regardnig medical cannabis.

     Get the information you need to know as a healthcare practitioner, educator, nursing student, caregiver or community member.

     The State of Hawaii has two distinct medical cannabis programs: Medical Cannabis Registry Program and the Medical Cannabis Dispensary Program both which offer medical cannabis for Hawaii's patients. This course will focus on Medical Cannabis which will provide information for understanding cannabis in practical terms, qualifying conditions, dosing and applications.

     Medical Cannabis Terminology and the role in Wellness and understanding the Endocannabinoid System. Medical Cannabis use in Wellness is an integrative approach to health, including nutrition, levels of activity and emotional health to create a balanced state of wellness.

     At this end of this course you will have a stronger understanding of Medical Cannabis in Wellness. 

     Instructor Shirley Ramey, LPN, has been a nurse with 25 years of nursing experience with a focus on integrative health.
